Almaty Museum of Arts, opened in late 2025, is one of several new art-lovers attractions across Central Asia. The museum, designed by UK architects Chapman Taylor, promises a wonderful collection, from Kazakh businessman-turned-philanthropist Nurlan Smagulov.

Marooned in the Mangystau deserts of Western Kazakhstan, Shakpak-ata is a place of pilgrimage for many. For lots of them, it is also a place of respite and refuge from the shimmering heat of the day.
